Welcome to The Early Reading Project!

Early reading dad.

My name is Adam, and my goal is to teach parents of young children (especially 0-5) everything they need to know to about reading and early language development.

My story is quite simple:

I taught my daughter to read fluently in two languages—Polish and English—before she turned four (and I loved every part of the process!).

Along the way, I realised there are a lot of things parents should know about reading—simple, basic things that could change their kids’ lives for the better.

I decided to create a simple 1-on-1 virtual lesson that shares all the most important research, insights, and suggestions that helped me teach my daughter to read.

A collection of illustrated children's books on a wooden surface, including "Slow Down" with butterfly illustrations, "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White with a girl and pig on the cover, "Here We Are" with a blue Earth illustration, "Tiny, Perfect Things" with autumnal illustrations, "The Bears' Famous Invasion of Sicily" and "At the Height of the Moon" showcasing a night scene with trees.

This one lesson covers the most essential things I believe every parent should know about reading and early language development.

In this lesson (which will be adapted to your kid’s age) we will talk about things like:

* How to talk and read to small children in ways that promote vocabulary building and strong language skills from the very beginning.

* What the most solid, reliable research says about effective reading instruction and early language development

* How to gently introduce letters through play and present phonics as a set of fun, simple challenges that a small child would enjoy

* creating a joyous language-rich home environment that promotes a love of reading

* A step-by-step breakdown of our own early reading story and what I think parents could learn from it.

Who is this for? (And why start so early?)

While i’m happy to meet and work with parents and kids of all ages, I’m especially enthusiastic about inspiring parents of small children (0-5, the earlier the better!) to prioritise reading and language environment early on.

The reason for this is simple: I think it’s the most helpful thing I can do.

Whether parents actually decide to teach their kid themselves or not, I believe there’s research they should know about and simple things they can do that might really help their kid out in the future.

The point is getting parents well-informed and excited about their kids’ reading, and the sooner they are, the better!

Let’s get your kid reading!
